This course is to assist SNAP Community Partners with Understanding and Abiding by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The course will include:
- Prohibited practices for public agencies under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964,
- DWSS service provider Title VI requirements and responsibilities,
- How to report a Title VI violation.
- How to assist those with Limited English Proficiency.
The U. S. Department of Agriculture prohibits discrimination in all its programs and activities on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, and marital or family status.
No person shall be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, or marital or family status in employment or in any program or activity conducted or funded by the Department & its partners.
State agencies that receive federal tax returns and return information must protect that information with a series of safeguards that are outlined in this training.
