Course Overview:

This online information security awareness course introduces basic concepts of information security, provides an overview of information security vulnerabilities and threats commonly encountered in today's workplace and at home, and recommends best practices in responding to the information security challenges which regularly occur in all environments.

State Information Security Consolidated Policy (State PSP 100, Section 3.5 Security Awareness) requires all Nevada State employees to complete information security awareness refresher training at least annually. This Information Security Awareness course has been designated as an approved method to satisfy that mandatory training requirement. 

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:

  1. Understand the basic concepts of information security and the risks to information security
  2. Understand fundamental best practices for using information systems securely
  3. Recognize common types of security vulnerabilities and threats, at work and at home
  4. Take appropriate action when a security vulnerability or threat occurs, at work and at home

Minimum Passing Score: 75% on the Final Exam

Course Overview

Sexual harassment is a form of discrimination; it is against the law and has no place in the workplace. This course is mandatory for all State of Nevada employees in accordance with NAC 284.496.

Learning Objectives

Upon completing this course:

  1. You will gain an understanding of the State of Nevada’s Sexual Harassment and Discrimination policies & regulations.
  2. Learn your rights and responsibilities to ensure the State of Nevada’s work environment is free of sexual harassment and discrimination.
  3. Gain an understanding on how to respect the sensitivities of others by developing an appreciation for a diverse workforce.
