Course Overview

This course is for state employees who want to increase their awareness of how to protect themselves in the event of an active assailant. Questions and concerns should be directed to Department of Administration, Risk Management Division.

Learning Objectives

Upon completing this course you will be able to:

  1. Explain what workplace violence is;
  2. Describe what creates increased risk as concerns workplace violence and how to mitigate such incidents;
  3. Explain what is an Active Assailant (AA) and how you can mentally prepare for an AA incident;
  4. Recognize how to maintain a good sense of awareness, and better prepare yourself for an incident of workplace violence.
