Course overview:
This course covers the importance of promoting a fair working environment, and the role each employee plays in eliminating all forms of harassment and discrimination in the workplace. Our goal is 100% compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We seek to educate everyone that we at DETR have a zero tolerance when handling alleged acts of discrimination. It is a mandatory course for all DETR employees. This course is mandatory for all DETR employees within 6 months of hire.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course you will be able to:
- Recognize various forms of discrimination; understand the necessity to report acts of discrimination.
- Become familiar with the laws that address discrimination against “protected groups”.
- Know what characteristics define a protected group.
- Understand the meaning of “reasonable accommodation” and the steps for requesting accommodation.
- Explain the “Three R’s” of workplace respect; know the rules that apply to both employees and their supervisors when recognizing and reporting workplace discrimination.
- Complete a knowledge test.

Course Overview:
The General Safety Seminar is designed to teach employees how to recognize, report, and properly respond to possible safety and disastrous situations at the workplace and teach safety precautions needed to prevent accidents and injuries. The emphasis of the course is on property and personal safety. This course is mandatory for all DETR employees within 6 months of hire. The General Safety Refresher course above is then required annually.
Learning Objectives:
Although offices are generally considered safe compared with other work environments, there are still many hazards of which you need to be aware. At the conclusion of this course, employees will be able to demonstrate knowledge and greater understanding of the following:

This is the Annual Refresher General Safety Training for DETR staff who have already attended the initial classroom training or completed the online "General Safety for DETR Employees" at the bottom of this page.
